Its not real HDR tho it just intelligently reads pre-existing colors and makes them a bit deeper. exe folder of any game and it allows you to force-enable tons of additional graphical features) and im just using that to enable sharpening and HDR which makes the colors pop a bit more and makes the textures look so much better. I've read on the Ubi AC forum they are going to come out with yet another patch, but I can't say I'm very optimistic, since the last one was supposed to have performance and stability fixes, yet did little if anything in that regard. There is still hitching and freeze pauses here and there, but mostly in the London borough. This way I get mostly a steady 40 FPS, which I cap with RTSS. I have literally set everything at Med, vs the High it detects my rig at on 1080p, and dropped the res to 900p. The clouds will still move, they just don't look quite as 3 dimensional. It's one setting that's not very noticeable (esp with fog on), and makes a fair amount of difference in performance. I read the GeForce graphics guide and decided to turn off volumetric clouds. They don't even give us a brightness slider, just a bar with a few clicks, some too bright, some too dark. I also agree on the fog, a bit overdone, but a bit too clear and bland without it. I turned off global lighting, which I'm pretty sure is dynamic lighting, but it makes the game look worse. Then globalillumination=1 i havent touched because this game has some of the purest-white lighting i have ever seen.īut uhh, does anyone know any other tweaks i can use? MinSkipMipTextureSize=512 to MinSkipMipTextureSize=256 thinking that it would skip more unnecessary textures? But it didnt seem to change anything so i guess ill just leave it at 256 lol. Unless someone can point out to me what exactly this removes then i see no reason to keep it enabled as it gave me quite a few more frames per second.Īnd i am kind of stupid so i like to change things i know nothing about as well, i changed Then i changed POSTFX=1 to PostFX=0 (post processing effects) and again i noticed no difference when comparing screenshots. Next i changed bloom=1 to bloom=0 and i noticed no difference whatsoever so i am just going to leave that one off. If anyone knows how to reduce the fog that would be cooler. The only con is that it becomes TOO clear and if you view the city from a high point some of the background things (things that are supposed to be hidden by fog) look a bit stupid. So i changed Fog=1 to Fog=0 And the game looks absolutely stunning, It's unbelievable how much the fog covers. I should start by saying i kind of dislike the fog, its just way too strong and feels like a slap across the face to the artists who spent so much time making the buildings/cities look authentic because it makes the draw distance seem like just a mere few meters. Im just trying to find any big tweaks that might give me a more consistent experience. The game runs good at 50-60fps but its not exactly smooth. I have the uplay version so i am not sure if the directory is the same but i found in My Documents - Assassins creed syndicate i found a config file called AC
